You’re Invited to “Creatives & Coffee” on February 6, Featuring Richard Turley

Creative Director Richard Turley knows how to create conversation-sparking images. Now he shares his secrets.

Overview: Join The Creative Factor at our next Creatives & Coffee event, featuring Creative Director Extraordinaire Richard Turley.

The Event: Sponsored by Adobe, Creatives & Coffee series is an intimate monthly gathering that helps curious humans kickstart their day with a creative exercise (and caffeine). It was born out of our frustration with seeing so much CONTENT online and not feeling like we carve out the time to actually DO the things that stretch our creative muscles. (For more, read the recap of our previous event.)

Our VIP Host: Richard Turley is the Creative Director of Interview and the co-founder of Civilization. He also led the redesign for Formula One, was the Creative Director at Bloomberg Business and MTV, and founded his studio Food in 2021.

The Creative Exercise: Few people are better than Richard at making a statement in a clever, head-turning visual. (Think of his infamous Bloomberg Business covers) He can tell a story with just a single image and a few words that offers a hilarious social critique. At this event, he will share how he recontextualizes and reuses cultural icons, meme culture, street art, news, and media trends, along with a bit of cheeky behavior, to design conversation-sparking images. Call it a first-thought, best-thought process, which he will share with attendees. Then attendees will have the chance to apply Turley’s process to creating their own magazine cover.

Who should attend?

1. Creative Directors who want to go inside the mind of someone who has surely made them jealous over the past 10 years.

2. Brand storytellers who feel they are creatively boxed in and want ideas to break out of it.

3. Publishing pros who yearn for the good old days of print, but now live in the digital world.

This event will fill up quickly, so please email us if you would like to attend: editors@thecreativefactor.co. We will see you there!
