There are times when it’s okay to use all caps (extreme weather alerts) and there are times when it’s not (all other times). Or so we thought.

Now Jocelyn Florence, Partner at Parallel, has introduced us to another 100% socially-acceptable way to use all caps to take back control of your work calendar.

Here’s her play: “I block ninety-minute HOLD slots in my calendar every day to avoid a day of back-to-back meetings,” she said. “Sometimes, they get scheduled over, but I think that naming them “HOLD” in aggro caps at least gives me and my team pause when we schedule over them.”

Anything to keep dotted-line bosses away.
